WHY THIS EXISTS
Compliance is moving. Inspection should keep pace.
As exploration and production move into deeper water, aviation rules and guidelines update continuously to keep operational safety current. Tracking compliance is a real overhead — something that has to be done thoroughly, not something operators can fit between other duties.
After the standard manufacturer warranty expires, the operator owns the compliance burden. Most platforms address this with a generic third-party inspector working from the published code. The result is a report that says what changed, not why or how to remediate.
Our annual inspection package is delivered by the engineers who designed and built the deck. We know what to look for because we know what was specified. We know what to recommend because we know what's available across our product range. The result is an inspection that closes the loop, not just opens findings.
Since May 2015, UK CAA International (CAAi) — a wholly-owned subsidiary of the UK Civil Aviation Authority — validates Aluminium Offshore helideck inspection reports against CAP 437.
This is a meaningful distinction. CAAi is the global aviation consultancy of the same regulator that publishes CAP 437. A report we issue carries forward the regulatory authority of the standard it's measured against. For operators reporting to flag states, classification societies or aviation authorities, the validation closes a loop that generic inspection reports leave open.
Decking profiles run from light duty to super heavy duty across more than ten standard extrusion shapes. Perforated for drainage or unperforated for sealed surfaces. New profiles can be developed per specific project requirement.
SCOPE
Six inspection areas. One report, fully traceable.
1. Helideck operation and safety
Operational compliance, signage, RFFS readiness, perimeter access. Verified against current CAP 437 requirements and the operator's own procedures.
2. Friction testing
Skid resistance measured on the actual landing surface using purpose-developed equipment. Aluminium and steel decks, painted or unpainted. Reported per ICAO and UKCAA criteria.
3. Markings inspection
H, circle, perimeter, obstacle markings. Condition, visibility, dimensional compliance against current standards.
4. Helideck structure and equipment inspection
Bolts, beams, decking panels, drainage, tie-downs, support frame integrity, fire-fighting and lighting systems checked end-to-end.
5. OFS and LOS compliance check
Obstacle-Free Sector and Limited-Obstacle Sector compliance against current code, including any platform changes since the previous inspection.
6. Documentation verification
All required certificates, manuals, maintenance logs and class records confirmed current and complete.

Not in the Base Package
Friction testing, safety net drop-load testing, structural upgrading work and component replacement are scoped separately. Each runs as its own service line, available as add-ons during inspection visits or as standalone engagements.
BEYOND ANNUAL INSPECTION
Aftersales runs the whole life of the asset.
Friction Test
Surface friction measurement on aluminium and steel helidecks, ICAO and UKCAA compliant. Independent service or scheduled with annual inspection.
Safety Net Testing
Drop-load testing, witnessed by classification society. Replacement netting in 20-year warranted marine aluminium.
Engineering & Upgrading
Site survey, gap analysis, design and refurbishment for helidecks transitioning to new operating regions or new code editions.
Component Supply
Foam monitors, DIFFS units, lighting components, tie-downs, signage and netting — direct from the original manufacturer.
