WHY THIS EXISTS

Bolted, not welded. Alloy, not paint.

Walkways and handrails are usually the most time-consuming part of any offshore topside. Carbon steel construction means intricate welding, blasting, painting, and hot work permits. Then the maintenance starts: corrosion, repaint cycles, replanking, recoating. For decades.

It doesn't have to be that way. We engineered QUICKLOCK as the offshore answer: modular extruded aluminium components that bolt and lock together using fasteners and a proprietary locking system. No welding, no special tools, infinite layouts from the same building blocks.

The system can be installed new or retrofitted in place of existing steel or GRP walkways. Compatible with any support material: surface mounted, side mounted, on aluminium, steel, concrete or composite.

THE EXTRUSION SYSTEM

Custom extrusions, clipped from the top.

Every QUICKLOCK component is a custom aluminium extrusion. A shape is designed and cut into a steel die. Hot 6082-T6 alloy is forced through the die, cooled, and heat-treated. The process produces complex profiles that incorporate multiple functions — load-bearing, locking, drainage, anti-slip — into a single piece.

Decking interlocks for load distribution and clips down to the supporting structure. Clipping fixes from the top — no underneath access required. A self-adhesive neoprene tape on steel beam top flanges removes galvanic reactions. Fasteners are SS316. Clips are powder-coated aluminium to prevent dissimilar metal contact.

Specially cast 360° rotatable elbow joints handle direction changes in any plane. Decking comes in lengths up to 12m, supported in one direction only.

ENGINEERING ADVANTAGES

Lighter, faster, outlasts the steel it replaces.

1. ⅓ the weight of equivalent steel

Topside weight savings cascade through every supporting structure below. Specifying QUICKLOCK in place of steel handrails on a large platform releases meaningful weight budget.

2. 100% weld-free installation

No hot work permits, no offshore welders, no inspection hold-points on welds. A typical run installs in a fraction of the time the steel equivalent would take.

3. Lifelong grip

Anti-slip is extruded into the decking profile: not sandblasted, not epoxy add-on. It can't wear off, can't peel, can't be painted over. Same grip on day one and year twenty.

4. 20-year structural corrosion warranty

Marine-grade 6082-T6 alloy with SS316 fasteners. No cracking, no resin failure, no recoating cycles. Designed to outlive the platform it's installed on.

SPECIFY YOUR INSTALLATION

Anodised or powder coated. 200 colours, your specification.

QUICKLOCK is configured per project. Handrail height from 1.0m to 1.5m, or custom to specific operator requirements. Surface mounted or side mounted, on any support material.

Finish options include anodised aluminium and powder coating in any of 200 standard colours, plus custom. Operators commonly specify yellow for escape walkways, red for fire hazard zones, and corporate colours for visible deck areas.

Decking profiles run from light duty to super heavy duty across more than ten standard extrusion shapes. Perforated for drainage or unperforated for sealed surfaces. New profiles can be developed per specific project requirement.

SPECIFICATIONS

Engineered to the standards your operators audit against.
